The Khazanah Watan Scholarship is a prestigious award that offers opportunities for talented and high-achieving Malaysians to pursue Undergraduate andPostgraduate studies at selected leading local universities.

The aim of the Khazanah Watan Scholarship Programme is two-fold – to train Malaysia’s brightest talents to transform its GLCs into competitive businesses locally and internationally; and to encourage individuals with excellent academic credentials to lead and participate in research initiatives that will contribute to the advancement of the universities reputation in research and innovation.

Who can Apply

For those who are planning to pursue or currently are pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate studies at selected universities in Malaysia.

Criteria/Eligibility

Undergraduate (Bachelor Degree)

  1. Malaysian citizen not exceeding 21 years on 1st January 2010.
  2. Currently in the first year of a Bachelor Degree programme at one of the selected leading Universities in Malaysia.
  3. Obtained a minimum of 3A’s & 1B for STPM or GCE A-Levels or a minimum CGPA 3.50/4.00 for Pre-University or Foundation or Matriculation Programme.
  4. Strong leadership skills and active participation in extra-curricular, social or voluntary activities.

Master Degree

  1. Malaysian citizen not exceeding 35 years on 1st January 2010.
  2. Obtained admission to pursue studies at one of the selected leading Universities in Malaysia
  3. Obtained a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum CGPA 3.50/4.00 or a Second Class Upper or ‘A’ grade average or equivalent.
  4. Strong leadership skills and active participation in extra-curricular, social and voluntary activities.

Doctoral Degree

  1. Malaysian citizen not exceeding 40 years on 1st January 2010.
  2. Currently in the first year of a Doctoral Degree programme or have obtained admission to pursue studies at one of the selected leading Universities in Malaysia.
  3. Obtained a Master Degree with a distinction or a minimum CGPA 3.50/4.00 or ‘A’ grade average and/or excellent examiners’ report if the Master Degree is by research.
  4. Obtained a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum CGPA 3.50/4.00 or a Second Class Upper or an ‘A’ grade average or equivalent.
  5. Strong leadership skills and active participation in extra curricular, social or voluntary activities.

Asean Scholarships

Introduction

The ASEAN Scholarships aim to provide opportunities to the young people ofASEAN to develop their potential and equip them with skills that will enable them to confidently step into the new millennium.

The ASEAN Scholarships lead to the award of the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education ‘Advanced’ (GCE ‘A’) Level (or equivalent) certificates. Outstanding students who perform well in the GCE ‘A’ Level (or equivalent) Examination may apply for the ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarships offered by the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University orSingapore Management University.

Value Of Award

  • Exemption from school and examination fees
  • Annual allowance of S$2,200 (secondary) or S$2,400 (Pre-university)
  • Accommodation (board & lodging)
  • Return transport allowance to and from Singapore (once)
  • Others – including medical benefits, settling-in allowance etc.

Who can apply

  • Nationals of Malaysia
  • Secondary One Scholarship – born between 1996 – 1998, studying in Standard 6/Form 1 or its equivalent
  • Secondary Three Scholarship – born between 1994 – 1996, studying in Form 2/Form 3 or its equivalent
  • Pre-University Scholarships – born between 1992 – 1994, studying in Form 5 or its equivalent. Those who have completed the SPM or the GCE O-Level in 2009 with excellent result may also apply.

Khazanah-Cambridge Scholarship

Introduction

The Khazanah-Cambridge Scholarship provides financial sponsorship to Malaysians who plan to study for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at theUniversity of Cambridge. The Khazanah-Cambridge Scholarship, established in 2009, is jointly sponsored by Yayasan Khazanah, the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and the Malaysian Commonwealth Studies Centre.

The Khazanah-Cambridge Scholarship is a part of leadership development programme that is aimed at building Malaysia’s future leadership talent. Recipients of this scholarship are expected to not only demonstrate academic excellence, but also develop their leadership skills through training and participation in a number of activities.

Scholars of the programme will undergo an enriching personal journey, and will also be part of a cadre of future leaders that will be groomed to eventually lead Malaysia’s government-linked companies (GLCs). It is a career-long journey that offers Malaysia’s top talents an opportunity to realize their full potential in the transformation of Malaysia’s GLCs into globally competitive corporations.

Eligibility

Undergraduate studies

  • Below 20 years in age
  • Must have an excellent academic track record, with an actual or predicted minimum of three A’s, or show evidence of excellent performance throughout their pre-university studies
  • Must apply to pursue a full-time residential degree

Postgraduate Studies

  • Below 40 years in age
  • Must have a First Class or a Second Class (Upper) honours degree, or where there is a point system, a minimum CGPA of 3.5, or its equivalent, and, for those applying for a doctoral degree with a research Master degree, show an excellent report for the thesis; where a formal qualification is not yet conferred, applicants must show evidence of excellent performance throughout their studies
  • Must apply to pursue any one of the following full-time residential courses of study:
  1. Research leading to the PhD degree
  2. Two-year MSc and M. Litt.
  3. One-year post-graduate courses (e.g. MPhil, LLM, MBA etc.)

Value of Scholarship

The scholarship will cover for the full duration of the course of study, and provides for tuition fees, monthly living expenses, return air passage and other provisions, such as a book allowance, establishment- and end-of-study allowances.

Leader Scholarships Award

Introduction

Hong Leong Foundation Scholarship Programme 2010


The Hong Leong Foundation Scholarship Programme is open to all Malaysian citizens who have an excellent academic record, active in extra-curricular activities but financially challenged. The scholarship is awarded to qualified Malaysian students for pursuing full-time Undergraduate Studies (1st degree course) and Diploma Courses tenable at recognised public andprivate universities and colleges in Malaysia.

Eligibility

  • Aged 17 to 25 years old
  • Displays outstanding leadership qualities matched by notable participation in extra-Downcurricular activities like societies and clubs, sports, etc.
  • Should not be currently or expecting to be receiving any form of financial aid (including scholarship and loan) or is bonded by any educational institution or organisation
  • Has obtained or awaiting an offer from any of the recognised educational institutions
  • Proficient in the English language (both oral and written)
  • SPM of at least 6As and 2 passes for a minimum of 8 subjects
  • STPM of at least 3As and a pass in the General Paper
  • UEC of at least 5As
  • CGPA of at least 3.5 for Diploma, Matriculation, Foundation or Pre-U. Please convert your scoring to CGPA when applying
  • Note:Those pursuing Foundation, Pre-U and Matriculation courses will not be considered.

Value of Scholarship

  • RM7,000 / annual for Undergraduate studies at local public universities
  • Up to RM20,000 / annual for Undergraduate studies at local private institutions (“3+0” twinning programmes on a full-time and on-campus basis)
  • RM5,000 / annual for Diploma or Advanced Diploma courses

Lion-Parkson Foundation Scholarship

Lion-Parkson Foundation Scholarship and Educational Loan Awards

Introduction

The Lion-Parkson Foundation (formerly known as Lion-ASM Foundation) was incorporated on 3rd September, 1985 to provide funds for education, scientific and charitable purposes. The fund awards scholarships and interest-free education loans to deserving students.

The scholarships and educational loans are awarded to Malaysian students to pursue full time undergraduate studies (1st degree course) and who have gained admission into recognised Public Universities in Malaysia, UTAR or KTAR.

Type of Awards

The Lion-Parkson Foundation is offering :

  • 2 Scholarships worth of RM12,000 each to deserving students to pursue courses in Engineering
  • 10 Education Loans worth RM8,000 each to deserving students to pursue courses in other disciplines.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3As & 1B in STPM, CGPA 3.5 and above in Matriculation or at Diploma Level

BCA-Industry Built Environment Scholarship

Introduction

The BCA–Industry Built Environment Scholarship scheme represents the concerted efforts of the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and leading industry players to offer young people of high calibre and vision an opportunity to take up the challenge of a career in the Built Environment.

The scholarship is tenable for studies at the National University of Singapore(NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU).
