The Discipline of Social Statistics and the Centre for Census and Survey Research at the University of Manchester offer an MSc programme in Social Research Methods and Statistics. The programme provides a firm grounding in advanced quantitative methods, taught within an applied social science framework. The programme is designed to be accessible to non-statisticians yet more focussed than most of the existing Masters courses in social research methods.
The MSc course offers relevant and marketable skills for a career in research and is recognised for PhD training by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). Eligibility

To be eligible for the Intel Penang Design Center Scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Be a Malaysian citizen
  • Be a full-time student in a local university studying in the fields of Electrical and Electronics, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering
  • Not hold any other scholarship from other companies, organizations, or Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA)**

Have one or more of the following:

  • SPM with A1 for mathematics and all science subjects

Introduction

The Yayasan Tun Suffian or, in English, the Tun Suffian Foundation, was established by the execution of a Trust Deed and an Agreement pursuant to the Trust Deed on 11 June 2002 during a simple ceremony in the Chambers of the then Chief Justice Yang Amat Ariff Tun Mohamed Dzaiddin who graciously agreed to be its Chairman.

Asean Scholarships

Introduction

The ASEAN Scholarships aim to provide opportunities to the young people ofASEAN to develop their potential and equip them with skills that will enable them to confidently step into the new millennium.

The ASEAN Scholarships lead to the award of the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education ‘Advanced’ (GCE ‘A’) Level (or equivalent) certificates. Khazanah-Cambridge Scholarship

Introduction

The Khazanah-Cambridge Scholarship provides financial sponsorship to Malaysians who plan to study for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at theUniversity of Cambridge. The Khazanah-Cambridge Scholarship, established in 2009, is jointly sponsored by Yayasan Khazanah, the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and the Malaysian Commonwealth Studies Centre.

Postgraduate Studies

  • Below 40 years in age
  • Must have a First Class or a Second Class (Upper) honours degree, or where there is a point system, a minimum CGPA of 3.5, or its equivalent, and, for those applying for a doctoral degree with a research Master degree, show an excellent report for the thesis; where a formal qualification is not yet conferred, applicants must show evidence of excellent performance throughout their studies

Hong Leong Foundation Scholarship Programme 2010


The Hong Leong Foundation Scholarship Programme is open to all Malaysian citizens who have an excellent academic record, active in extra-curricular activities but financially challenged. The scholarship is awarded to qualified Malaysian students for pursuing full-time Undergraduate Studies (1st degree course) and Diploma Courses tenable at recognised public andprivate universities and colleges in Malaysia.

Introduction

The Lion-Parkson Foundation (formerly known as Lion-ASM Foundation) was incorporated on 3rd September, 1985 to provide funds for education, scientific and charitable purposes. The fund awards scholarships and interest-free education loans to deserving students.

CSMP Fellowships and scholarships

The ‘Conflict Studies and Management Programme’ (CSMP) is a new programme implemented by the ‘Willy Brandt School of Public Policy’ in Erfurt (Brandt School) and the ‘German Academic Exchange Service’ (DAAD). The Willy Brandt School of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt is one of the leading public policy schools in Germany. Since 2002 the School’s Master’s programme is committed to training talented students for management and leadership positions mainly in the public sector.

In 2010 the Brandt School launches a new research programme in conflict studies and conflict management focusing on (policy) issues relevant to regions of conflict. In winter semester 2010 fellows will start their research projects at the Brandt School and participate in developing the programme. Also in winter semester 2010 the first Master and doctoral students will enrol. The CSMP aims at preparing students who want to pursue a career in relevant organisations and seeks to produce applicable knowledge in the area of conflict studies.

Kenny Rogers Roaster Scholarship 2010

Introduction

Kenny Rogers Roasters Malaysia for the first time invites eligible Malaysian students to apply for their Roasters Scholarship Programme 2010.

This scholarship aims to provide deserving students to pursue a Bachelor Degree programme in Hospitality Management at Berjaya University College of Hospitality.

Field of Study

Bachelor degree in Hospitality Management

Eligibility

  • A Malaysian citizen.
  • Holds a STPM, Pre-U, Diploma, A-Level or equivalents.
  • Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student with Berjaya University College of Hospitality.
  • Do not receive any scholarship/financial assistance/bursaries from other bodies.

Note: Academic entry requirements are determined based on country as per scholarship offer letter.

Value of Scholarship

The scholarship is in the form of tuition waiver.

Great Eastern Supremacy Local Scholarship Award

Introduction

This yearly scholarship award is open to all Malaysians who are policyholders or children of policyholders of Great Eastern whose policies have been in force for more than three years to pursue the following first degree courses at any of the recognized local public or private universities:

Courses of Study

1. Accounting
2. Business Administration
3. Actuarial Science
4. Information Technology
5. Law
6. Mathematics
7. Economics

Value of Awards *

Public University : Maximum RM13,700 per annum for academic fees and living allowance per academic year.

Private University : Maximum RM16,700 per annum for academic fees and living allowance per academic year.

Tenure of Award

Minimum period required by the recipient to complete the course

Requirements:

Applicants must :

a) be below 21 years of age as of the year of application.
b) possess good academic result in STPM/equivalent and active in sports and extra curricular activities.
c) be able to gain admission to the local public or private universities for approved courses of study. Applicants to be considered from local private universities must have completed their matriculation or the first year in their degree programme.

Provisional offer of scholarship will be made subject to the confirmation of acceptance by the abovementioned educational institutions.

Conditions of Awards

(a) Award holders must not be bonded to or holding any other scholarship or receiving financial assistance from any other institutions or organizations.
(b) Award holders will be required to enter into a 3-year bond with Great Eastern immediately upon successful completion of their course.

The new “Biasiswa 1 Malaysia” is now open for application to all all prospective students and students studying inEgypt.

Who eligible to apply

  • Candidates who obtain outstanding results in SPM 2009 to pursue first degree in medicine in Egyptstarting 2010/2011 session
  • 2nd year students who are pursuing the same field and university.

Fields of Study

  • Degree in Medicine (not include Pharmacy / Dentistry and Veterinary)

Eligibility

  • Malaysian citizen
  • Sekolah Menengah Agama Negeri (SMAN) or Sekolah Menengah Agama Rakyat (SMAR) leavers
  • Holds a STAM / STA / SMA or equivalent.
  • Age not exceed 25 by 1st September 2010
  • Received confirmation letter from Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi (KPT) or Jabatan Penuntut Malaysia (JPMK) in Egypt
  • Received offer letter to further study from Egypt in sessions 2010/2011; or
  • Students who are following the study year 2 and above at the same university
  • Priority will be given to students who come from poor families who do not receive any sponsorship.
