Yayasan Wah Seong Scholarship Awards 2010


Introduction

Wah Seong Corporation Berhad (WSCB), a leading oil and gas services group, is offering scholarships for full time first degree courses at Malaysian public universities through its Foundation, Yayasan Wah Seong (YWS). Scholarships are offered to financially needy and academically deserving students. Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria are invited to apply.

Eligibility

  • Candidates currently studying, registered or applying to local public universities.
  • Applicants must be Malaysians and demonstrate a continuing involvement in extra-curricular activities (team or individual sports; voluntary service; affiliation with a recognized association or society).

Value of Scholarship

Scholarship Package includes course fees, compulsory fees, textbooks, board & lodging, transportation & pocket allowances.
The value of each award is not more than RM10,000 per academic year.

Introduction

Scholarships at The University of Manchester

The Discipline of Social Statistics and the Centre for Census and Survey Research at the University of Manchester offer an MSc programme in Social Research Methods and Statistics. The programme provides a firm grounding in advanced quantitative methods, taught within an applied social science framework. The programme is designed to be accessible to non-statisticians yet more focussed than most of the existing Masters courses in social research methods.
The MSc course offers relevant and marketable skills for a career in research and is recognised for PhD training by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). Modules are taught with an emphasis on hands-on training in the application of methods and software. The programme is available full-time over one year or part-time over two years. Scholarships that will cover the fees of up to three excellent full time (Home/EU) students or of one excellent full time overseas student are currently available.

The Intel Penang Design Center (PDC), established in 1992, is one of the largest and most advanced Intel Design and Development centers in the Asia Pacific region. Intel PDC designs Intel® Core™2 processors, Intel® Atom™ processors, and Advanced IA Platform Chipsets.

Our Design Engineers architect and create innovative IP and features for the next platform system-on-a-chip solutions on 45nm (nanometer) and 32nm process technology. Intel PDC grants R&D scholarships every year to outstanding students from local universities throughout the country.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Intel Penang Design Center Scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Be a Malaysian citizen
  • Be a full-time student in a local university studying in the fields of Electrical and Electronics, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering
  • Not hold any other scholarship from other companies, organizations, or Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA)**

Have one or more of the following:

  • SPM with A1 for mathematics and all science subjects
  • STPM with grade A for a minimum of three subjects
  • Matriculation with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and above
  • For university undergraduates, a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 is required

**Note: Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional Malaysia (PTPTN) loan holders are allowed to apply.

Scholarship Package

Each scholarship package includes:

  • Tuition fee of RM10,000 per year for undergraduate students
  • Tuition fee of RM13,000 per year for postgraduate students
  • Partnership with a Senior Design Engineer to mentor and guide your studies and career planning
  • Industrial training opportunities at Intel

Yayasan Tun Suffian Scholarship

Introduction

The Yayasan Tun Suffian or, in English, the Tun Suffian Foundation, was established by the execution of a Trust Deed and an Agreement pursuant to the Trust Deed on 11 June 2002 during a simple ceremony in the Chambers of the then Chief Justice Yang Amat Ariff Tun Mohamed Dzaiddin who graciously agreed to be its Chairman.

  • Candidates must submit a copy of the letter of admission to the university as proof of admission.

  • Applicants must submit completed forms- this include a 500-word essay as to why they would like to pursue the course.

LLB-local universities

  • Applications are to be submitted directly to the University of Cambridge Board of Graduate Studies in the appropriate Graduate Admission and Scholarship Application Form (GRADSAF), attaching therewith all relevant particulars required from the applicant.
  • Arrangements have already been made for the authorities at Cambridge to forward all applications to Puan Alwizah Al-Yafii Ahmad Kamal, the Honorary Secretary of the Foundation at Suite 2-4, Level 2, Tower Block, Menara Milenium, Jalan Damanlela, Pusat Bandar Damansara, 50490 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
